Riverside Life Services: Behind the Scenes Part II
Within the walls of 3727 McCray St, God uses many who work and volunteer to care for moms, dads, and families. Many moments of encouragement, compassion, education, planning, and provision happen here, all while showing the love of Christ. Come along with us on our second part to our tour of Riverside Life Services. This time, we’ll see the clinic side of things!
When you first step in…
You’ll be greeted by kind faces behind the counter. These women care deeply for the women who walk into the clinic.
After being greeting by warm smiles, a cozy couch and a fluffy rug await. The atmosphere is peaceful and cozy.
Just off the waiting room is the hallway that leads to the ultrasound room, patient restrooms, the diaper room, and the boutique. Encouraging words adorn the hallway.
These words are lived out by those who work within the walls of Riverside Life Services and it reflects in the patient care!
The first room you come to in the hallway is the counseling room. Here, a mom can receive counseling she needs regarding pregnancy after a positive test.
Just down the hallway from the pregnancy counseling room is a very special room. The ultrasound room is where moms get to hear their baby’s heartbeat and see the first images of their baby. Seeing these images and hearing the precious rhythm of the heartbeat opens the eyes and hearts of many!
This year, we have given nearly 800 ultrasounds in this room!
On the other side of the clinic is a recently remodeled classroom. Riverside Life Services offers nearly 30 different classes from pregnancy care to postpartum care, from infants to toddlers, budgeting, nutrition, and so much more. The moms who take the classes earn shopping trips in the boutique.
And finally, across the hallway from the classroom is a room where moms can get help and care from the lactation specialist. Moms can feel comfortable and safe while learning how to nurse their baby.
The people who truly make all this possible are donors. It is because of the generosity of many that Riverside Life Services can open their doors and help so many moms, dads, and families.
