The annual Walk For Life conducted by Riverside Life Services will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2008 at Shamel Park.   Registration begins at 1:00 PMand the Walk will start at 1:30 PM.

The Walk For Life is one of two annual fundraisers held each year. Riverside Life Services is a non-profit organization and is supported solely by the contributions of churches and individuals. The Walk For Life is a major event to bring churches and families together to celebrate the sanctity of every human life!

The Walk has two routes, one route is approximately 3 miles and the other is approximately 1 mile.  It begins this year at Shamel Park, 3650 Arlington Ave., Riverside. We will have music, raffle prizes, balloons, and food for purchase - including hamburgers, fries, funnel cakes and smoothies - proceeds will benefit Riverside Life Services. Each sponsored participant raising $200 will be given an event T-shirt. This is a great opportunity to celebrate the gift of life with your family and friends. Bring out your children, your dog, and your grandma....and tell everyone you know!

To promote the Walk For Life and ensure that it is a great success, we need volunteers to be liaisons to their church and community. Volunteers are given information packets, along with copies of vital information about the center, posters, and flyers. The liaisons' responsibility is to recruit participants who will find people to sponsor them in the walk. Participants are to show up at the Walk and bring all the money collected in a sealed envelope. All contributions are tax deductible.

This fundraiser is vital to the survival of Riverside Life Services. If we are going to continue to meet the tremendous need in our city of offering alternatives to abortion, we need the support of the community. We cannot exist without it. This is also an excellent opportunity to show the residents, businesses, and government of Riverside that every life counts.
