Post Abortion Support Group
Women experiencing post abortion grief can find themselves unable to work through their emotional responses to abortion. The most common effects of abortion grief may include depression, anxiety, substance abuse, low self-esteem, emotional numbing and re-living the abortion through dreams or flashbacks. Post Abortion Grief develops when a woman is unable to work through her emotional responses resulting from the experience of an abortion.
This may occur within a few hours following an abortion, or it may not surface until many years later. Women may be afraid to talk about it, may feel great shame about their abortion, and may not even realize how it is affecting them. Many women are even afraid to talk about their abortion to their doctor or counselor. Some women state that they are “okay” or that “it was the best decision they could have made for that time in their life”; but sometimes life experiences can “trigger” some latent feelings.

Miscarriage Support Group
Women may experience a roller coaster of emotions such as numbness, disbelief, anger, guilt, sadness, depression, and difficulty concentrating. Even if the pregnancy ended very early, the sense of bonding between a mother and her baby can be strong. Some women even experience physical symptoms from their emotional distress. These symptoms include: fatigue, trouble sleeping, difficulty concentrating, loss of appetite, and frequent episodes of crying. The hormonal changes that occur after miscarriage may intensify these symptoms. Please contact us if you are experiencing these symptoms: 951-784-2422
"When life gives you lemons, make lemonade" is a proverbial phrase used to encourage optimism and a positive can-do attitude in the face of adversity or misfortune. Lemons suggest sourness or difficulty in life, while lemonade is a sweet drink. Being a new mom especially in an unplanned pregnancy can be difficult but with a group full of moms in the same position you can exchange tips and tricks as well as get some encouragement from those who understand what you are going through. Let us know if you'd like to be apart of our Lemon Squeeze sessions.
